The Schecter Guitar Research Damien Elite 5 5-String comes equipped with pro pickups and EQ from EMG. The EMG active B64 E/Q was designed for contouring bass, mid and treble frequencies of bass guitar. It has a tighter filter bandwidth giving a more pronounced effect from each control. The mid-cut of the B64 is perfect for “funk” with its mid-range centered at a lower frequency. Both Bass and Treble controls on the B64 are more selective and don’t creep into the mid-range. The EMG MMHZ is a direct replacement for the original Music Man bass pickup. This pickup is passive (without internal pre-amp) and features a dual-coil design for low noise and plenty of output. The MMHZ housing is directly compatible with EMG's entire active MM pickup line. All feature the CS design (ceramic and steel). The CS design has the punch and fullness of the older passive designs along with added brightness for a better-defined tone. The Damien Elite-5 has got a smooth maple neck perfect for playability and sturdiness. Maple has a uniform grain, it’s strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body that complements the warm tones of a mahogany body. Rosewood is naturally oily and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact, which is why it's the most commonly used wood for fingerboards. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores. Schecter Bass tuners provide high quality, precision tuning with minimum weight. Details include a 17:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 13.6mm diameter peg hole.
